High school

                                                                   High school
I've been in high school for a month now. There were a lot of good things and a lot of bad thing about high school. One good thing about high school is that we have the freedom to leave the school during lunch. We can go out and do whatever I want which is very fun and I really like that about high school. Another good thing is that now that it's High school, it's a fresh start. There are new teachers and even if you didn't do as well in school as you hoped to in middle school, it's a fresh start. You can start over and try your best to reach the goal you've always wanted to reach.
There are also bad things about high school. One bad thing is that now that it's high school, it's a lot harder and there is a lot more work. The teachers are more strict and serious and you really have to try your hardest which isn't that easy and it's a lot of stress. But, overall I really like high school so far!

Mind Map- Genesis 6-9

My reflection on this is that even though God did Destroy the entire world and it might seem like God is a bad character by doing that, there are good point of views to look at this. God didn't destroy Noah just because he was good. God could have just chosen to kill him also and start a new world with new people but instead God decided to save him because he was good. Before reading this, I always thought of God as the God that loves us and cares for us. Even after reading Genesis 6-9 I still feel that God is a loving God who cares and helps us. God destroyed the world because people were bad, they were deserving of it. I believe if you do good, God will do good things for you. If you do bad, God will punish you, which is why the entire world got flooded and everyone died except for Noah because Noah was good and was deserving of living.

Who do we blame for the eviction of Eden?

                                              Genesis chapter 2&3
In chapters 2&3 in the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve are kicked out the garden of Eden because they listened to the snack and ate from the tree when God specifically told them not to eat from it. Because they ate from the tree, their punishment is that Adam has to work the land and for Eve she will have pain giving birth and so will every woman ever to live. And for the snake his punishment is that he would have to crawl on his belly and eat dust. I believe that it was Adam and Eve's fault themselves that they got kicked out. They were the ones that listened to the snake and ate from the tree. God told them that they could eat from every other tree except for that one and they had so many other choices to choose from but they specifically ate from the tree God told them not to eat from. I believe they do deserve that punishment and that it was their own fault because they had the free choice of doing what they want and they chose to do the wrong thing, eat from the tree that God told them not to eat from.

Deucalion and the flood in Ancient Greece

                                                          The Story of the Flood
                                                          By: Daniella Shahravan
In many cultures, there are stories about a major flood that happened. One of them is the story “The Epic of Gilgamesh” where there was a huge flood and one man got saved by building a boat. I will talk about a similar story in Ancient Greece.
In the very early times in Greece there was a man named Deucalion and he was the son of Prometheus, a titan. After Jupitar had bound Prometheus on Mount Caucasus and had sent diseases and cares into the world, men became very very wicked. Men no longer built houses, took care of their flocks, and they didn’t live in peace together. They fought with each other all day. Promethesus was very upset and he decided he needs to send a great rain storm and destroy every person on this earth. He warned his son, Deucalion that a major storm will be coming and he told him to build a boat and stay in it so that he would be saved, since he didn’t do any wrong actions. He sent a great storm and it rained for a long time and eventually destroyed all men on the earth. After a while, the rain stopped falling and Deucalion and his wife got out and stepped on dry land.
This story is very similar to “The Epic of Gilgamesh”. It’s similar because they both got warned by a god that a storm is coming and to build a boat to save themselves and their families. It is different because in “The Epic of Gilgamesh”, the god wanted to bring a flood because the people were too noisy, but in the story of “Deucalion and the flood” the god wanted to bring a flood because the people were being very bad and acting cruel to each other.
